UTP Stage I at TMUIC is designed to prepare you for entry to a variety of university-level programs. In UTP Stage I, you complete eight courses. After successfully completing this program, you will progress to UTP Stage II.

UTP Stage I Program

 

Delivered by the Toronto Metropolitan University English Language Institute (ELI), the EAP is a pathway program designed to help you strengthen your English language skills. This program facilitates your transition to TMUIC foundation programs, adding an additional 8-16 weeks (dependent on your English language proficiency) to the start of the program.

UTP Stage II: Arts

UTP Stage II: Arts is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Arts degree.

 

UTP Stage II: Arts is a first-year studies option that lets you explore social science and humanities programs areas before applying to your program of choice for your second year. All courses that you successfully complete in the Arts program will be credited to the selected Toronto Metropolitan University major.

UTP Stage II: Business Management

UTP Stage II: Business Management is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Business Management degree. 

 

Upon the successful completion of UTP Stage II, you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU, where you’ll have access to industry experts, an optional co-op program, case competitions and networking events to strengthen and put your skills to work in professional environments. Study in the heart of Canada’s business district with faculty committed to ground breaking teaching strategies that combine theory and practice.

UTP Stage II: Creative Industries

UTP Stage II: Creative Industries is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Arts in Creative Industries degree. Upon successful completion of UTP Stage II, you’ll progress to the second year of this degree program at TMU which is housed in The Creative School.

 

The first program of its kind in North America, this program by the Creative School prepares students for roles in communication, design, media, entertainment, arts and culture. Creative Industries empowers students to understand the creative process and commercial activity.

UTP Stage II: Engineering

UTP Stage II: Engineering is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Engineering and Architectural Science degree. Upon the successful completion of UTP Stage II, you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU.

TMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science’s undergraduate programs prepare students to make meaningful contributions to advancements in technology, health, environmental sustainability, design and more. All engineering programs are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.

UTP Stage II: Hospitality and Tourism Management

UTP Stage II: Hospitality and Tourism Management is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree. Upon the successful completion of UTP Stage II, you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU.

 

The Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management develops future managers in the Canadian and International hospitality and tourism industries. This Bachelor of Commerce program contains a blend of applied, professionally-related and liberal studies courses.

UTP Stage II: International Economics and Finance

UTP Stage II: International Economics and Finance is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Arts degree in International Economics and Finance. Upon the successful completion of UTP Stage II, you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU.

 

You will explore the interconnectedness of worldwide markets and cultivate the economic skills necessary to make strategic decisions from a global perspective. Students graduate ready to provide advice and generate solutions in business, finance and government. 

UTP Stage II: Professional Communication

UTP Stage II: Professional Communication is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Communication. Upon the successful completion of UTP Stage II, you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU.

 

Join the Creative School to understand the relationship between message, audience and context and your role as a communication professional in one of Canada’s top communication programs. Gain expertise in written, visual, digital, interpersonal and oral communication.

UTP Stage II: Science

UTP Stage II: Science is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Science degree. Upon the successful completion of UTP Stage II, you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU.
